
«No running shadows» is the result of experiments with graphics within the Moscow Master’s residence from ACI. My temporary workshop was an empty space with white walls, where I could watch the variable silhouettes of shadows, returning to the sense of inner time, its permanence. Graph and time, the movement of the image, what’s it in? In pursuit of potential completion or in a state of transition, stuck between planes, materials and surfaces. In this series, I decided to work with images at the intersection of states, between slipping and presence, weightlessness and palpability, mobility and static.

The motives for graphic experiments were photographs and digital collages with windows and other fragments of space from my archives.



Step: Photo — film — shadow — flesh
The movement towards the image begins with a photograph that I translate into a transparent film by hand, covering areas that will cast shadows with different materials. The light is then directed to the film, and the emerging light-shield pattern is already fixed on the graphical surface.

On the surfaces, I wanted to create different invoices, add heterogeneity to the schedule. During the shadow phase, there was a split of one motive and a rotation of several spatial motives on the same surface.
