
The most controversial and complex hero of Tokyo ' s working culture is an office employee, unnamed, unspoken, overloaded with work, anonymous and underappreciated in the public machinery. The project started with the film «Salaryman» (2021), a documentary study of Tokyo’s working culture. The week of a modern office employee who wears a normal costume every day, performs routine tasks, and then gets a portion of the programmed rest, often ending up getting drunk and lying on the street — an example of living under someone’s set standard. The metaphor for the image of the modern office environment was a plastic designer with a set of parts ready to be assembled according to the approved template.
